(Isaac^5, Paul^4, Garret^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes) was b. 1803 (Ontario, Canada). James was a carpenter by trade and the 1871 Ontario census lists him as unable to write. He m. Carissa _______ (b. abt. 1817, Ontario, Canada) before 1839. James d. 19 December 1886 in Haldimand Twp., Ont., CAN. (There is a death registration listing for a Christine Van Wicklin for 24 June 1917 Murray and this could possibly be a "nickname" used by Carissa. Actual review of the death certificate some day should clear this up. See source section below.)

In a 5 August 2002 email, Jack Montgomery writes the following based on his review of a listing in the 1861 Ontario, CAN census: David James Van Wicklin in Cramahe, 1861 claimed 59 years and was b. in Ontario and was married to Clarissa, age 44, b. in USA and four children -- Mary, John, Lorenzo, and Hannah. 

Children: Mary J.^7 Van Wicklin was b. abt. 1839 (Cramahe Township, Ont., Can) and on 23 December 1865 married L. F. Blake (b. abt. 1836) of Cramahe Township, the son of W.M. and Nancy Blake. Jonathan^7 Van Wicklin was b. abt. 1844 and married Rebecca Bone (daughter of Cornelius and Lucinda Bone) on 1 June 1862. Rebecca was 17 at the time she was married, giving her a birth year of 1845. Jonathan was a carpenter and resided in Haldimand Township, Northumberland County, Ont, Canada. Lorenzo^7 Van Wicklin (b. abt. 1846) appears in the household of James and Carissa Van Wicklin, in the 1871 Ontario census. Hannah^7 Van Wicklin (b. abt. April 1848) died at age 16 years, 9 months on 25 January 1865. She is buried in the Christian Church Cemetery, located in the county of Northumberland in Cramahe Township on Conc. 9 Lot 14 near Morganston.
